These are the pictures I took in my excitement today on discovering a real life opportunity to try out these fantastic products!
My instructor Joe as I mentioned was very impressed and he put the elizabethan collar on his dog Woody as a comparison. (Love the one of the 3 of them together where Woody is in the background looking like the one left out!)
The photos show the benefits of the Novaguard beautifully. Keith, whose dog George has a infection on the side of his mouth, was very grateful to us. (I took one shot of George trying to scratch his mouth with no success!) Keith's wife Helen had been worried about Georges ears being squashed, and his hearing of commands at school was impaired. Plus the walls at their home were being scratched by the elizabethan collar!!.
The only difficulty George had with the Novaguard on was drinking water from the communal bucket when the level was too low. Initially he managed to have a drink though and Keith was going to make sure he had a wider brim and lower water container at home. So, it all looks absolutely fantastic!!!

20 December 2006
Yesterday my dog a poodle x cocker spaniel had cataract surgery on both eyes.
Driving home last night I had to stop and assist my dog with breathing. The Elizabethan collar he was wearing did not suit his head shape. His floppy ears were squashed in the collar and his neck was hurting as the edge of the collar was cutting into the skin.
He was continually bumping into the door frames, furniture and me as his head now needed three times the area and he couldn’t judge the distance. He was unable to fit through the doggie door, so the back door had to be propped open all night.
He could eat with difficulty, however, could not lap water. He was unable to pant properly and became very hot and distressed. All in all - how were we to survive for ten days with this collar?
This morning he was fitted with a prototype helmet collar to see if this type of collar would be more suitable and effective.
What can I say, I have a different dog. He is able to pant as normal, he no difficulty with the car trip, and could walk from the back seat to the front seat as normal when traveling. On arriving home he ran straight through the doggie door and started drinking his water. He has not hit any obstacles in the house or outside, and to top it all off he could scratch his itchy ear.
Libby and I are very grateful and appreciate this on top of regaining his eyesight, this is the BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT we have ever received.
